09 October 2007
Rufus Leonard continues to support Carbon Disclosure Project by designing the latest annual report
Rufus Leonard has designed and produced the CDP’s 2007 Annual Report, CDP5, which launched on 24 September in New York at the Merrill Lynch headquarters and on 9 October in Gibson Hall, London. Keynote speakers Bill Clinton, the Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch and the Head of Merchandising at Wal-Mart spoke at the U.S. launch, while Sir Terry Leahy, CEO of Tesco, Joan Ruddock MP, minister for Climate Change and Bob Wigley, chairman of Merrill Lynch EMEA, headlined the London event.
Rufus Leonard has been a firm supporter of the CDP since its inception 5 years ago. Founded by Paul Dickinson a former Rufus Leonard director, the CDP has grown into a massive $10 trillion carbon neutral investment program and now communicates responses from over 1,300 organisations worldwide. Rufus Leonard has been responsible for the design and implementation of the CDP identity and all communications since launch, including all launch reports to date. They were also key sponsors of the launch event this year and designed the interactive online PDF to accompany the report.
CDP Chief Executive Paul Dickinson said: “We are delighted to be working again with Rufus Leonard who created the entire design style for CDP. In just a few short years we have become the largest coalition of investors in history and the largest registry of greenhouse gas emissions in the world. Our work is applauded by political leaders like Al Gore, Tony Blair and Angela Merkel. Rufus Leonard can claim a large part of the credit for our success. They know how to turn communications into results.”
“We were very pleased to have been awarded the design and production work for this high profile report for the fifth year running,” stated Will Rowe, managing director of Rufus Leonard. ”We strongly endorse the work of the CDP and align our policy with the CDP’s aims of reducing the carbon footprint of business’ globally.”
The CDP is an independent not-for-profit organisation aiming to create a lasting relationship between shareholders and corporations regarding the implications for shareholder value and commercial operations presented by climate change. Its goal is to facilitate a dialogue, supported by quality information, from which a rational response to climate change will emerge.
