Rufus Leonard Wins RedDot Award for OGC Website

06 November 2007

Rufus Leonard has been given the RedDot International Award for its RedDot CMS implementation in the OGC’s (Office of Government Commerce) website www.ogc.gov.uk. The award will be handed out on 8 November during RedDot Days in Cologne, Germany.

Since the start of 2007 the OGC website has had over 912,000 visitors and over two million files have been downloaded. The project brief was to streamline the existing website and to consider how the OGC's digital platform could both reach and engage a wide range of audiences, using a CMS system that could deliver on the technical requirements of the project.

Andrew Pinkess commented, “We are very pleased with our work for the OGC on the RedDot CMS implementation, which combined with our IA consultancy is helping the OGC reach a wide range of audiences online including its core target of central government departments but also local authorities, health and education and emergency services.

“To help the OGC develop the site on an ongoing basis, we’ve also produced a definitive and comprehensive style guide for design and content as well as providing system training and ongoing support and maintenance.”

The Office of Government Commerce (OGC) is an independent office of HM Treasury, responsible for improving value for money in procurement by driving up standards and capability.   Its website was recently recognized by the Interactive Media Awards with the Outstanding Achievement Award in the category of government websites.
