Rio Tinto shortlisted by Investor Relations Society

Rio Tinto has been shortlisted for 'Best Website: FTSE 100' in the forthcoming 2007 IR Best Practice Awards held by the Investor Relations Society. Rio Tinto is one of the world's leading mining and exploration companies. The Group finds, mines and processes the earth's mineral resources - metals and minerals essential for making thousands of everyday products that meet society's needs and contribute to improved living standards. Activities span the world with production from every continent.

The shortlist follows a recent information architecture project, where Rufus Leonard built and configured an 'industrial strength' corporate web platform for Rio Tinto. This platform allows Rio Tinto to rationalise and manage its complex information needs. It also enables the company to tell a coherent story to its customers and stakeholders.

Rufus Leonard has been working with Rio Tinto since spring of 2006 and is now one of its global development partners, undertaking information architecture projects linked to Rio Tinto's sustainable development programme.
