Public sector win for Rufus Leonard with REEEP website
20 June 2003
In line with its strategy to increase business from the public sector, leading brand development and web consultancy, Rufus Leonard, announces its appointment by The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) to create the online brand and website for the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP).
REEEP is a World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) partnership, created to deliver the sustainable energy commitments agreed at WSSD and to take forward the recommendations of the G8 Renewable Task Force. A global organisation, REEEP’s principal aim is to accelerate and expand the global market for renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. The UK is the lead partner while the REEEP programme is under development with responsibility for the initiative resting with the Foreign Office.
Given the global nature of REEEP, the website will be the main marketing vehicle for communicating with the organisation’s various audiences, including private companies, venture capitalists, government organisations and other stakeholders.
Effective immediately, the contract is for a six-month period and will cover the creation of the online brand and the design and build of REEEP’s web site. Content will be provided by Carbon International, a specialist energy-marketing agency with whom Rufus Leonard is partnering on this project.
Carbon International recently produced the Carbon Disclosure Project, a research that aims to create a lasting relationship between shareholders and corporations with regard to the investment risk and business implications presented by climate change.
Andrew Pinkess, Director of Strategy at Rufus Leonard, commented that:
‘Our sponsorship of the Carbon Disclosure Project provided us with a good understanding of contemporary energy issues and insight into REEEP’s requirements. Coupled with our vast web and online branding experience, Rufus Leonard was the best-placed agency to create an impactful and memorable web presence for this newly-established organisation.’
Amal-Lee Amin, Head of the REEEP Secretariat commented that:
‘The FCO is facilitating the development of the REEEP as a truly global and inclusive partnership that brings together key stakeholders committed towards accelerating the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency. The website will have an important role in this.’
