Rufus Leonard helps charity out of a 'crisis'

03 December 2004

Leading brand development agency Rufus Leonard has extended its CSR credentials with work for leading homelessness charity, Crisis. The work supports the launch of the charity’s first ever ‘Winter Walkabout’, a one-mile family stroll through London aimed at raising money for homeless people.

Rufus Leonard has created the brand identity for the ‘Winter Walkabout’. Due to the family nature of the event the team were keen to encapsulate the themes of ‘Christmas’, ‘Family’, ‘Homelessness’ and ‘Crisis’, emphasizing that Christmas is not only a family time but also a time to reflect on those less fortunate.

The identity will be used across specially designed posters publicising the event, the route map and the Crisis website (www.crisis.org).

Stacey Clegg, Head of Project Management at Rufus Leonard, led the project and explains:
"We began talking to Crisis in October when they explained the need for a new visual identity to support the first year of their family oriented event, the Winter Walkabout. With such a strong brand identity already existing for Crisis we were delighted to have the opportunity to work with them and create something to compliment this at such a key time in their fundraising calendar."

Sarah Walker, Community and Events Fundraising Manager, at Crisis comments:
"The team at Rufus Leonard took the time to understand our needs and the result is not only an event name that sums it up perfectly, but also an associated visual identity that compliments the look and feel of our main ‘Crisis’ logo. It has been great to work with Rufus Leonard, especially given that timing was so crucial to create the necessary buzz at what is already a very noisy time of year especially in the fundraising sector."

The ‘Winter Walkabout’ will take place in Central London (St Paul’s Cathedral to Tower Bridge) on December 30th 2004. For more information visit: http://www.crisis.org.uk/walkabout
