Rufus Leonard sharpens CSR focus with sponsorship of groundbreaking report on climate change

19 May 2004

The Carbon Disclosure Project is a $10 trillion investor initiative that rates the five hundred largest global companies’ action on climate change and how this translates into shareholder value. Rufus Leonard considers the sponsorship as an essential element of its own understanding of how CSR programmes and brands are increasingly interconnected.  Rufus Leonard also sponsors the project as part of its own aims to run an environmentally friendly business.  The Carbon Disclosure Project itself is based at the Rufus Leonard offices in Farringdon and is run by one of their consultants, who has been seconded for three years to front the project.

Andrew Pinkess, Strategy Director, comments: “ At Rufus Leonard we initially witnessed an interest in CSR that was purely based on reporting and compliance, however this is changing as companies make the links between their CSR programmes and their brand development. Rufus Leonard is developing a fast-growing portfolio of clients interested in this area and has already worked with Shell, BT, Swiss Life, Macromedia and Public Concern at Work to develop campaigns with a strong CSR dimension. “

This is the second year that Rufus Leonard has co-sponsored the report, alongside the Carbon Trust, a government funded body set up to promote reductions in carbon emissions.
