O2 launches new corporate website

28 September 2005

O2 unveils its new look corporate website next week (www.o2.com), designed by leading brand and digital agency, Rufus Leonard.

The site has been redesigned to reflect the brand and personality of O2 today and to allow for greater quantities of information to be posted, and easily found, on the website.

Initially launched in 2001 when O2 demerged from BT, the site has been expanded from its initial 30 pages to incorporate over 750 today.  Informative and accessible, a sophisticated content management system facilitates speedier content update, improved design and navigation, allowing customers, institutional investors, private shareholders and the media to find content quickly and easily.

New content additions include a ‘Health and mobile safety’ section which is dedicated to addressing customer concerns, keeping them fully aware of all the facts available and updated with any relevant new research and advice on health and mobile phones.

The new site also comes complete with new share price modelling tools, regulatory feeds, online CSR materials, advanced news search, feedback and email alerts. These improvements reflect O2’s position in today’s marketplace and a commitment to providing its users with access to the best online experience possible.

Louise Clements, Communications and New Media Manager, at O2, said: “Rufus Leonard’s strength in digital branding has helped us to create a site that suitably reflects O2’s position as a leading mobile communications company.”

Susan Costello, Client Partner at Rufus Leonard, added: “We are pleased with the new O2 website which reflects the stature of the company and its position in the FTSE 100.  Having been integral to the design and build of the first O2 website back in 2001, it has been an interesting project to now revisit its needs and purpose.”

Previously Rufus Leonard has been contracted to undertake a number of campaigns on behalf of O2, including creating a dedicated sales site, designing and developing an online music portal and the Xda microsite.
