Rufus Leonard develops website for O2 i-mode
03 October 2005
Rufus Leonard, the leading brand and digital consultancy, this week launches a redesigned and updated website for O2 to support the launch of its i-mode data service into the UK market.
Rufus Leonard won the work after a three way pitch and has been responsible for designing and developing an online environment which compliments the i-mode service. i-mode is a mobile internet service which offers O2 customers access to a range of easy-to-use, fast services and rich content applications. In November 2004, O2 signed a long-term strategic agreement with NTT DoCoMo, under which O2 is licensed to exclusively launch i-mode technology in the UK.
Using the new website, customers can discover what big name brands such as FT, Lastminute and RightMove are doing with O2 i-mode and can experience i-mode for themselves through an emulator which actually hooks into the i-mode service through the internet. Users can also get a sneak preview of the forthcoming advertising campaign and find out essential information, such as which handsets support the service and the key benefits of accessing i-mode.
Susan Costello, Client Partner at Rufus Leonard said: “We are extremely pleased to have produced this website for O2 because i-mode is an exciting new technology which will bring true mobile internet services to O2’s customers – putting O2 in a unique position among the UK’s mobile network operators. This project has been the latest in a successful ongoing relationship between our two companies.”
Previously Rufus Leonard has been contracted to undertake a number of campaigns on behalf of O2, including a new design and content management platform for www.o2.com, www.o2.co.uk/music and www.o2.co.uk/xda..
