Brett catapults construction sector into the digital age
09 March 2006
Construction and building materials group, Brett, is stepping up its online presence with the launch of a new website this week, designed by Rufus Leonard.
The new site is the first step in a five year digital strategy, also devised by Rufus Leonard, to create a vision and strategy for the business in the digital space. Until now the construction industry has been slow to embrace the online revolution but Brett recognised the increased requirement from customers – both existing and new – and commercial opportunities offered by the web.
The new website (www.brett.co.uk) has been designed to be simple and easy to use whilst allowing each division within the company the opportunity to showcase its individual proposition. The site includes a content management system, trackable brochure requests, online downloads, a search engine facility, contractor and stockist finders and can be maintained within the business. The simple, clean and fresh design also reflects the Brett Group’s new brand identity which was introduced in 2004.
As part of devising the five year digital plan Rufus Leonard has undertaken strategy sessions with Brett’s management team to develop a campaign which keeps them at the forefront of the digital revolution through to 2010. This has included a comprehensive research phase, compliance standards and workshops in order to create a robust digital strategy. The company will also be embracing emerging technologies such as mobile applications and communications.
Susan Costello, Client Partner at Rufus Leonard, said: “The Brett management recognised the opportunities presented by the digital arena and went through a robust website development programme to produce the new site. The buy-in and involvement of the senior management team in the project has meant a real cohesion between the company’s digital and wider business strategy.”
Susan Birgin, Head of Brand and Communications at Brett, said: “Increasingly customers, staff and suppliers are working in a digital and online environment and we felt it was important to embrace that. We are delighted with the new website which is clean, easy to navigate and offers useful functionality and content for our customers and suppliers.”
