We are the champions

Rufus Leonard was invited by EPiServer, to take part in the EPiSever Challenge 2007; a sailing event that takes place off the west coast of Marstrand in Sweden, home of the Swedish Match Cup.

Our winning team consisted of Peter Barker - Head of Development, Lucy Kay - Head of HR and Jack Fraser - Application Developer (skipper of the boat) and was completed with Chayter Sowerby  from EPiServer.

The event has participants from across the globe and aims to challenge all entrants, both physically and mentally in a team environment, with just a little bit of fun thrown in for good measure. The first stage consisted of teams being divided into two groups for two rounds of qualifying heats. The Rufus Leonard boat sailed through, riding on a crest of a wave to reach the next round and then motored through to the final.

The final itself was highly competitive as each boat aimed for the coveted victory.  Using an excellent strategy and strong team work the Rufus Leonard team crossed the line just ahead of the rest.

Skipper Jack Fraser said “This has been a truly excellent event. It was really hard at times out on the water but we pulled together well as a team and are very happy with our success.”
