The National Portrait Gallery Private View

10 April 2006

Pomegranate crush, it’s all the rage, and where better place to get a glass than at the Rufus Leonard private view? Having created the branding for the National Portrait Gallery Rufus Leonard was granted privileged access to its latest exhibitions. The exclusive event, which took place on the 5 April, was attended by over 150 clients and friends of Rufus Leonard. We all enjoyed some canapés and wine as we strolled around the ‘Icons and Idols’ exhibition and the newly opened ‘Searching for Shakespeare’.

The National Portrait Gallery celebrates its 150th Anniversary this year and sees the return of the first portrait ever to be presented to the Gallery the “Chandos” portrait of William Shakespeare “as part of the “Searching for Shakespeare” exhibit. The “Icons and Idols: Commissioning Contemporary Portraits” exhibition is a fascinating look at the portrayal of celebrity, including images of Dame Judi Dench, David Beckham and a new 3D portrait of author JK Rowling.

Rufus Leonard is delighted to have been granted this private view and pleased that everyone enjoyed the evening.
