Our History
The six ages of Rufus Leonard
1 - Starting with quality
We were founded 16 years ago. Our idea was to create high quality communications for blue-chip clients and arts organisations we liked.
2 - Among the first to go digital
And then, in our infancy, we became involved at the very start of commercial digital media. The plan quickly developed to take the high standards we had in brand and corporate communications and apply them in new media.
3 - The first generation of web
That simple skills transference proved extremely successful. Next we began targeting and winning major website programmes - and, from a standing start, we developed into one of the UK’s strongest digital agencies. All the while, we were still winning and developing major branding projects for blue-chip clients.
4 - Making a unique integrated offer
So then we decided to exploit an advantage that could fairly be called unique. We were one of the very few top design studios where you could get excellent digital skills and similar brand and communications skills from a single team. We chose to develop the team and the things we did well further, so that we really could offer seamless, intelligent, integrated communications.
5 - Deeper skills in distinct areas
And to keep that unique advantage fresh, we focused on the specific skill areas that defined what we did. We developed four distinct strengths - strategy, branding, digital and print. We now draw upon these in infinite combinations to deliver what clients want. Because when clients say integration today, they mean all sorts of things.
6 - Sticking with quality
We still embrace new communications channels with a bear hug. We're still winning big brand projects. And we 'll keep on adding skills. Rufus Leonard can think and deliver in wide terms and deliver to the highest standards.
7 – Going global
In 2008 we opened our Middle East office, based in Dubai. Following demand from key clients in the region we decided it was time to have a local presence to cater to their needs. The local office also provides our base for offering our services to other clients in the region.
