Covid-19: The time is now

Rufus Leonard in the news

Making a meaningful difference to your customers has never been more important than in the current climate. Our current global change of circumstances has thrown all our business and digital transformation efforts into sharp relief. Whatever timeline you were on is now out of the window.

There is no doubt that this pandemic will have widespread and long-lasting implications. It’s therefore essential that organisations and brands build in the necessary customer and operational resilience to survive this new reality.

There are two encouraging messages coming through loud and clear in global reports and research about how businesses can and should respond in light of the impact of coronavirus:

1. Live and breathe your brand purpose. As many businesses flex to offer new or digitalised services that make sense in our new normal, leaning into why you exist and what you help your customers achieve is integral to your success. If it’s not fit for purpose, that’s okay – change it, but change it quick and incorporate it seamlessly in your company comms.

2. Digital estates are mission critical. The Covid-19 pandemic has showcased the value of IT and digital transformation and organisations should use this time to accelerate the transition. In this challenging time, it is also important to have a virtual team you can rely on. One that can work with you to optimise your digital estate for optimum performance, spot opportunities and respond quickly to make them a reality.

After a period of uncertainty, we now know that the lockdown will last for months and have an impact for the rest of 2020 and ongoing. Now is the time to think strategically about how you respond.

Please find below a reference list of Rufus materials to help you build in the necessary customer and operational resilience to survive the new reality. Our tools and support will enable you to adapt to the ‘here and now’ while also identifying how the ‘new normal’ will affect your long-term roadmap.

Brand Experience Index

After 30 years of advising businesses, we know that extraordinary brand experiences create real business value. Not only does brand experience impact how a customer feels about a brand, but it also has a significant financial impact on loyalty, customer spend and recommendations. That’s why we created a way to measure it; the Brand Experience Index (BXi). You can download the full report free here. There is a really useful BXi Canvas in the report that will help you create your own brand experience hypotheses.
