OUR EMPLOYEES’ WELLBEING IS AT THE TOP OF OUR AGENDA
Our employees’ wellbeing is at the top of our agenda. Not only do we recognise that a healthy team is a productive team; we also place big importance on kindness across the agency. That’s why for World Mental Health Day 2022, we’ve asked our staff to think about what good mental wellbeing looks like to them, and have given them a little nudge in the right direction with the following advice, support and tools to stay healthy.
1. Find support (and be supportive!)
We’re proud to count three mental health first aiders in our midst, who provide vital contact and advice for colleagues in need; even if it’s just a download over a cup of tea. We also partner with leading industry charity NABS – who are always on hand with their brilliant employee advice line, and can get employees in touch with therapists for cognitive behavioural therapy.
2. Look after yourself physically
Our bodies are incredible machines that need be fuelled. That’s why we’re offering and promoting free flu jabs and posture assessments for our staff throughout the month of October. Plus, we’ve been (gently) educating our teams on the importance of logging off for a good sleep – which is crucial for mental wellbeing – and avoiding ‘social jet lag’.
3. Do something for you
Could be knitting, baking or watching the latest box set – doing something you enjoy and taking time to relax is important. It’s also a good excuse to learn something new! Within Rufus, our social cubs are always busy organising fun activities with a ‘hands-on’ aspect – whether it’s UV painting, escape rooms, or wreath making at Christmas. We’re also a creative bunch, so we often advocate turning to creativity for moments of calm.
